FAQ's

Will my jukebox require servicing?

All Sound Leisure Classic Jukeboxes are manufactured to a commercial standard and are built to last a generation. Like all electrical and mechanical products, they will require servicing at some point but the duration is dependent on how often they are used and the environment in which they are situated. We regularly see jukeboxes coming in for their first service after twenty or more years and we still support or repair the vast majority of the jukeboxes and technologies we have designed and built over the past 40 years.

Can I connect the jukebox to Bluetooth speakers?

Our D4 jukebox amplifier features 1x stereo audio output which can be used to output the audio from the jukebox to any compatible external device. Bluetooth speakers are usually supplied with a Bluetooth transmitter, which converts the audio content from a music source into a Bluetooth signal which can then be beamed across the room to the wireless speakers. To connect a jukebox to a Bluetooth transmitter, connect the ‘output’ from the jukebox amplifier to the ‘input’ on your Bluetooth transmitter.

The output on the jukebox amplifier is a ‘phono’ socket, which features a separate plug for the left and right audio channels (usually red and white.) If your Bluetooth transmitter feature identical phono inputs, you will require a stereo phono to phone lead to make the connection. If your Bluetooth transmitter features a small 3.5mm or large 6.35mm ‘stereo jack’ input, you will require a phono to 3.5mm or 6.35mm jack lead to connect the two devices.

Both lead types can be purchased from Sound Leisure and our helpful team is only a call away if you need any advice or support connecting your jukebox to external devices such as Bluetooth transmitters.

Can I listen to my jukebox through Bluetooth headphones?

Do I need to purchase CDs from you to fill the jukebox or can I use my own?

Our CD jukeboxes will play standard Compact Disks which can be purchased from any reputable retailer, there’s nothing unique or special about them so you can use CD’s you have already or purchase new discs anywhere.

Can I connect my Sonos unit to my jukebox?

Our D4 jukebox amplifier features 1 stereo audio output which can be used to output the audio from the jukebox to any compatible external device. As long as you are not already using this to connect to another device you will be able to feed the audio from your jukebox to the Sonos system using a Sonos Port which costs around £400.

This will then transmit the audio from the jukebox wirelessly across your Sonos setup. Both the D4 amplifier and the Sonos Port use phono connections which features a separate plug for the left and right audio (usually red and white) at each end of the lead. To connect the Sonos device to the output of the jukebox amplifier you’ll just need a stereo phono to phono lead.

You can purchase a Sonos Port via the Sonos website, and if you need any assistance connecting it up please just get in touch.

What happens if my jukebox faults after warranty has expired?

All our jukeboxes are built to last a generation, but occasionally things will go wrong or break and we know it can be stressful and upsetting. That’s why we include free ‘real person’ telephone support with all our jukeboxes and that lasts for the lifetime of the jukebox.

If the worst should happen and your jukebox develops any kind of fault, contacting our support team is always the best first step to take. In many cases we’ll be able to resolve your issue over the phone, but if this isn’t possible it will get the fault registered so we can start to work through any steps required to get your jukebox back up and running.

If your product requires the attention of our engineers, we‘ll either provide you with instructions to remove and send the relevant parts back at our factory for repair, or in some specific cases we’ll arrange with you to repair the fault at your home.

Where faults which require repair occur outside the terms of your warranty, charges will apply to where you utilise parts or labour. If you would like to know more about the terms of our warranty you can read them in our Terms and Conditions

Can I customise parts or all of my jukebox?

Yes, absolutely!

Because we hand build every Sound Leisure’s Classic Jukebox, our ‘Custom Shop’ can customise any part of it to ensure it really lives up to your personal expectations. This can take pretty much any form, from a simple replacement customised Name Plate or bespoke cabinet finish, to a fully customised, one off jukebox design. To make it simple to understand all the common options, we include a wide range of standard ‘Custom Shop’ options for the majority of our jukebox models. If you click ‘configure and buy’ on any jukebox product pages on this site, you’ll be asked to select a finish, add-ons, accessories and then ‘Custom Shop’ options. You can select an individual part to customise by ticking it, or select multiple ‘Custom Shop’ options and the total price will update accordingly. Once we receive your order, the ‘Custom Shop’ team will then contact you to discuss your ideas and get to work developing custom artwork for you approval.

While this site contains lots of ‘Custom Shop’ options, we know our customers have amazing ideas of their own, and we can‘t possible list everything, so if you’d like a customisation you can’t see please just get in touch.

Can I stream my digital music content through the jukebox?

Many of Sound Leisure’s jukebox products feature a ‘Bluetooth Receiver’ as standard, allowing you to stream digital music from any mobile or compatible device to your jukebox. So whether its Apple Music, Spotify or Deezer, we’ve got it covered. But how does it work??

Regardless of your jukebox type (Vinyl 7”, CD, vinyl LP or Digital) music selections made at and played from your jukebox always take priority.

So, assume you’re streaming Spotify through your jukebox and enjoying your favourite relaxed Sunday morning playlist. Your partner decides they’ve had enough of the ‘weekend go slow’, so picks a high energy track from the jukebox to get you moving! Now who controls the playlist?

Well, both of you, but in this case your ‘high energy’ partner takes control initially, because their track selection was made on the jukebox, for playback by the jukebox. You’d therefore hear your streaming playlist fade out, then the jukebox track playback would begin. But don’t worry, as soon as the dancing is and the selected track finishes, the jukebox will automatically drop back to the streaming content so you both get a bit of what you like.

Check the ‘Specification Inc Dimensions’ section of each product page for more information. ‘Bluetooth Receiver’ will be clearly listed if this feature is included with a product.

Can I put shuffle mode on the jukebox?

Yes, of course!

All our CD and Vinyl jukeboxes can automatically select and play tracks to save you making selections, but the exact functionality depends on the format of music your jukebox plays (eg CD, vinyl 45 etc.)

The following general information should apply to all models:

- To enabled a shuffle mode, press the “shuffle on” button on the remote control. A dot will appear on the jukebox display to confirm “shuffle mode” has been enabled.

- Depending on your jukebox model, multiple shuffle modes may be available by pressing the “shuffle on” button multiple times. E.g. CD jukeboxes can shuffle discs (where entire albums are played) or tracks (where individual tracks are played.)

- To disable shuffle mode press the “Shuffle Off” button on the remote control. The dot on the jukebox display will disappear to confirm “shuffle mode” has been disabled.

PLEASE NOTE :

- as 7″ singles only have one “track” per side, the shuffle ‘disc’ and shuffle ‘track’ produce the same outcome.

- due to the nature of the medium, LP mechanisms are unable to select individual tracks from an album therefore the shuffle mode selects and plays random LP sides.

For specific features and instructions relating to your specific jukebox model, please consult your user manual.

Is there an easy way to play a full CD album on a jukebox other than selecting each track individually?

Yes, you can quickly select playback of all the tracks on a specific CD as follows:

1. Enter the disc number of the specific track you want to play (e.g. 105)

2. Rather than entering a track number (e.g. 05) just enter 00

3. The jukebox will then select the disc and commence playback of the full album. You can then use the options on the remote control to affect playback, for example:

- >> will skip forwards to the next track on the album

- << will replay the current track. Double pressing << will skip back to the previous track.

- REJECT/DISC will eject the current album.

For specific features and instructions relating to your specific jukebox model, please consult your user manual.

Can you colour match the jukebox to my preference?

Of course!

Because Sound Leisure hand build our jukeboxes to order, your cabinet can be finished specifically to your requirements. Our site features lots of our most popular cabinet ‘finishes’ which can be seen on our product pages, just click ‘configure and buy’ to view the options for each model.

However, if you can’t find an option you’re looking for and have something very specific in mind, please just get in touch to discuss you ideas. We are able to colour match to existing furniture, match RAL paint colours and even apply specific veneers and finishes to a jukebox cabinet to ensure it fits perfectly in your location. Our talented team have a wealth of experience working with all kinds of paints, stains and lacquers.

We can also vinyl wrap and laminate jukebox cabinets to create stunning graphical themes for our jukeboxes, take a look at out ‘Custom Shop’ page to find out more.

Are the jukeboxes reliable?

You hear all too often “things aren’t built the way they used to be.” That’s not a comment you’ll ever hear regarding a Sound Leisure Classic Jukebox.

We’ve been designing and building jukeboxes for over 4 decades, and we’ve learnt a huge amount during that time. From becoming the first British company to design, develop and build a commercially viable and widely adopted jukebox platform in the 1970’s, we went on to pioneer the early development of digitised music platforms in the 1980’s and were responsible for the reintroduction of vinyl jukeboxes in 2016. We remain a globally recognised and respected leader in our sector with countless patents and industry firsts to our name.

We continue to go to huge lengths to ensure the quality of our machines remains extremely high, from the utilisation of innovative modern 3D CAD design, to our ongoing pledge to contunue hand-building every Classic jukebox in the UK using our skilled and experienced workforce. Our consistent success and growth, over a 40 year period which saw the demise of many long established jukebox manufacturers such as Seeburg and Wurlitzer, is based on our ongoing commitment to the development of better products and technologies and our unfading commitment to high quality British manufacturing.

- We only build 1 grade of jukeboxes, there’s no difference between a Sound Leisure jukebox built to be used in a living room in Paris or a Las Vegas restaurant, they are identical in every respect.

- The vast majority of our cabinets and technologies are developed to full commercial standards and all are independently safety tested and certified to modern standards.

- All our mechanisms and jukebox technologies are designed, developed and manufactured in-house by our talented team of engineers and only available on Sound Leisure products. It’s only by retaining this level of control we are able to ensure a customer experience which is without compromise.

- Our bubble tubes are encased in the same polycarbonate as used in Police riot shields.

- Our “Golden Age” dome top cabinets are made from one piece of laminated ply wood, just like the originals were. We are the only manufacturer in the world still able to build cabinets this way.

We’ve filled venues across the world with music for over 40 years and produced hundreds of thousands of jukeboxes. While our manufacturing focus now sits entirely with Classic Jukeboxes, it’s reassuring to know every jukebox we build stands of the shoulders of four decades of knowledge, experience and expertise.

How many CD’s / Records do the jukeboxes hold?

- Our CD mechanisms hold 80 cds.

- Our 45rpm vinyl playing mechanism holds 70 x 7″ singles and can play both sides, offering 140 selections.

- Our LP playing mechanism comes in two variants, a 10 x player (20 selections) and a 20 x player (40 selections).

- Both play 12″ LP vinyl records and 12″ singles.

- All our jukeboxes are bluetooth compatible offering unlimited selections via streaming.

What do I do if my jukebox is not working correctly?

Jukebox manuals can be downloaded from this site, just visit the ‘jukeboxes’ section, click on your model then look for the ‘downloads’ area.

The user manual will detail any error codes or trouble shooting steps which might be applicable, but if you can’t quickly resolve an issue a call or email to our support team is always a great place to get further assistance.
